Wol Maiwen's journey represents the power of opportunity.
Born in South Sudan during a time of conflict, Wol and his family eventually found a new home in Maine at the age of six. Growing up in a new country, basketball became more than a sport — it became a pathway.
Through dedication, discipline, and resilience, Wol developed into a standout high school athlete, earning the opportunity to compete at the Division I collegiate level.
His journey continued beyond the United States, taking him across the world as a professional basketball player competing internationally. From China to Sweden, Canada, and beyond, basketball has allowed Wol to experience different cultures, build relationships across communities, and see firsthand the power of sport as a connector.
Today, Wol brings those experiences back to Great Falls Youth Corp. His mission is to show young people that their circumstances do not define their future — a young person from any background can build a life beyond what they imagine.
Through mentorship, leadership, and personal connection, Wol serves as a living example of what happens when opportunity meets preparation.

Wol Maiwen
Executive Director
Steve Milks brings over three decades of experience in leadership, workforce development, recruiting, coaching, and community service.
A Cornell University graduate and former football player, Steve combines professional experience with a lifelong commitment to developing people.
Program Director
Yasin "Yasmo" Mohammed is a driving force behind youth development in the Lewiston/Auburn community. Born in Somalia, he is a proud Somali-American whose own journey mirrors the community he serves.
A former college basketball player at Thomas College, Yasmo combines athletic experience, entrepreneurship, creativity, and community leadership.

Christine Chute serves on the Great Falls Youth Corp Board of Directors, helping guide the organization's mission of creating opportunities for young people across Lewiston/Auburn.
